Ruckman Mill Farm-Susan Feller
|
"Thank you for visiting our website. Please return to the Gallery of Rugs and be sure to visit all areas of the fabulous world of fiber art." |
Raised in Warren County, New Jersey, Susan learned hand crafts from her grandmothter, Louise and mother, Carol. Girl Scouting taught the basic survival and independance skills which have carried through her life. In 1994, Lillian Vail taught her how to hook and her artistic talents had finally found a medium for expression. With degrees in Art and History from U Mass/ Boston, Susan's goal is to raise the recognition of this craft to the level of art by exploring design, materials, and color never forgetting the historical connection.
The craft of rug
hooking interests Susan because of its use of the recycled materials. It
is an American heritage, and the technique allowing one to
"paint" with wool, creating colorful designs. |
